Biodiversity, density and frequency of Rotifers community at warm water fishes ponds at East of Golestan Province (Gonbade Kavous region)

The aim of this study was survey of Rotifers community of warm water fish ponds in Gonbade Kavous region at east of Golestan Province. Samplings were done monthly during one culture period from June to November 2011. Finally, 8 genuses were identified and recorded. The results show that the highest and lowest frequency percent of genus belongs to Brachionus sp, Asplanchna sp, Philodina sp, Rotaria sp, Adineta sp, Polyarthra sp, Gastropus sp and Keratella sp with 73.6, 7.6, 5.3, 5.2, 4.4, 1.3, 1.3 and 1.3 % respectively. Logarithm mean of rotifer density had no significant differences between different ponds (P>0.05) but this value was significant differences between different months and seasons (P<0.05). So, that the highest and lowest density belongs to June and September months. But, spring and fall seasons had highest and lowest density. The analysis between Rotifers community and water physico-chemical parameters shows no significant correlation. The results show that Rotifers community of fish ponds affected by pond trophy, climate condition and culture fishes.
